HISTORY

CSI (Consultancy Services International LTD) was established in Jebel Ali free zone in 1990 by Charlie Haslam, and quickly became involved in using high pressure hydro abrasive cold cutting systems to remove damaged sections of oil wells in Kuwait after the Iraqi invasion of 1990, in partnership with Hytorc. Numerous other applications such as hydrodemolition were included in the services provided after completion of the Kuwait contract.

Two years later Hytorc's owner decided to return to the USA, and the contracting division was closed.

In the meantime, Mike Biddle, who had sold the cold cutting equipment, and provided the expertise to Hytorc had set up his own business in Kuwait, (High Pressure International Ltd) under the sponsorship of Raith Engineering and Manufacturing WLL, to sell high pressure water blast equipment throughout the region.

In 1994, Mike moved the business to Jebel Ali in partnership with CSI, and in August of 2000 we were pleased to achieve the status of JETSTREAM distributor for the Middle East Region. In 2002, in partnership with the Raith Engineering and Manufacturing Company we set up HYDROFLOW PUMP RENTAL in Dubai to provide a specialist waterblast equipment rental service throughout the gulf region.

CSI rapidly established a reputation for having the best equipment and expertise available in the region, and provided an honest, good value service to contractors and end users throughout the region, and the same team now continues the tradition at AWE.

In February 2006 a new company, ASIA WATERJET EQUIPMENT FZCO (AWE) was formed at Jebel Ali Free Zone to formalise ownership of the business, upgrade its status, and bring in one new partner, Steve Ellis who had been instrumental in the success of the business after joining CSI as operations manager in August 2003. The existing CSI personnel and business were then transferred to AWE on April 1st 2006.

We are not a contractor, so if you are, we are not your competitor. If you are a facility owner, we won't carry out the work for you, but we will find a solution to any application problems you may have via our consultancy service.
